Due Date: Wednesday, March 10, 8:00am
Points: 7
Many of you have been using Facebook already, so this might be a simple assignment to complete. If you have’t already created a Facebook account and profile, that is the first (ungraded) step of the assignment. Then complete the following:
1. Create a minimum of three friends lists in your Facebook Profile and provide a screen shot of the lists. The first four items do not count as they are already included by default in your Profile. It should look like the following:

2. Create a Facebook Page for an organization, business, celebrity or band that you can represent. It may require you to volunteer for some organization or business that doesn’t have a Facebook presence yet or it could be for the brand you have created for the semester. If that is not possible, it may need to be fictitious long enough to complete the assignment for this class, but ideally you can determine a method to participate using real.
3. Establish a Facebook Username for your Personal Profile and/or Facebook Page
4. Create a Facebook Event, either on your Profile or Page.
5. Use Twitter (and other methods) to promote your Facebook Page and get at least 10 fans for the page.
6. Write a blog post and provide the following in the post. (1) A discussion of the pros/cons of using Facebook. The focus can be personally or professionally and could raise such issues as privacy, corporate power, etc. (2) a screen shot of Friends List, (3) a link to your Facebook Page, (4) a link to your Facebook Username, (5) a link to a Facebook Event created by you, and (6) a screen shot of your Tweet promoting Page (Hint: if you click on the time of any tweet on twitter.com, it will link to a page with just that tweet). This blog post will NOT count toward the Commenting and Blogging assignment.
In all cases, I will be looking for complete and clear profiles, pages, and events as outlined in the lecture. The assignment will be evaluated holistically for a total of seven points possible. If you have questions, please post in the Site Help group.
