My Online Persona

I want you to think about what you might develop as a project for this class – what do you want to “promote” using the social media tools we are learning? Will it be an organization? A person? A business? What is the brand?

Answer that question first. Who are you this semester?

Second, create a picture or a video that relates to the selected brand. If it is a video, it should be relatively short (maybe 2-5 minutes). You will be uploading this item to something like Flickr, YouTube, or Vimeo. The item must be something original and not currently available online.

Third, develop a biography and create an image toolkit as outlined in the Learning Module.

Fourth, select a username and domain name (domain purchase is not required, but it should be available) for the brand. The username should be unique and something you could use across social media networks.

Finally, write a blog post on your class blog. The blog post should include the following:

  1. Identify who you are this semester – what are you branding/marketing?
  2. Link to the video or image mentioned in number two above.
  3. Biography for identified brand.
  4. Username and domain name for identified brand.
  5. Two sample images for the identified brand. (2-points)

The blog post itself will not count for one of the posts on the Posting and Commenting assignment, but any comments made could count if they meet the criteria. My suggestion, but not required, is that you create a second blog post this week where you explore in a narrative form what your plan is to promote and market the identified brand.
