We are rapidly approaching the end of the semester and of the Social Media and Social Networking class. I hope you have found value in the course content and have also enjoyed the work we have completed together. We have a few more learning modules remaining – virtual worlds, productivity tools, pictures, and going mobile – but I have also just posted the Final Project for you to review.

As you probably know, I am a little behind on the grading but rest assured that if you completed the work outlined in the assignment then you will receive the passing grade. Don’t forget the two extra credit assignments – SciFy Reading (due May 5) or Meditation (April 23-25).

Please comment here or in the Site Help group if you have questions or concerns.

Unfortunately, what this means is I’m behind in preparing the next learning module (and related assignment). My goal is to get something out in the next day or two – it’s kind of like I was absent from the classroom for the week. Rest assured it will be completed and we’ll get back on track.

Did you realize that when you take an entire 4-days offline that one could easily get behind schedule? That’s what happened to me this week.

Fortunately, the Learning Module on Branding was posted in a timely manner and you could commence reading and learning; which I hope you have availed yourself of by now.

Unfortunately, the assignment for this week was only posted just now. Take a look at the Your Brand assignment now so you have an idea of where we’re headed this week. However, due to my tardiness the assignment will not be due until Friday, February 26 at 8:00am.

Up next for me is reading and grading of the several hundred comments and posts made in the last week or two by the class. I’m looking forward to it!

We are now in the fourth day of classes and here are some suggestions on how to be successful with this online class:

1. Login to classes|kenleyneufeld at least every day or two.
2. New posts (like this one) will be listed in the middle column of the Home Page. At the very least, you should read the ones posted by the instructor (this is important) but you might want to read posts created by classmates too.
3. Review the first column on the Home Page for all new activity on the site. This includes all posts, comments, changes, etc. Just scan this for interesting content.
4. Use the Learning Modules menu to see course content – I will probably be adding new content on a weekly basis and it will be listed in order.
5. Use the Assignments menu to see course assignments – I will probably be adding assignments on a weekly basis and it will be listed in order of completion.

If you have questions or problems, please use the Forum in the Site Help Group.

Most important. It may seem like you are trying to juggle basketballs, but remember to HAVE FUN.

But let’s not get to far ahead of ourselves…

You will want to familiarize yourself with the inner workings of this site so that you can navigate effectively. All the course content will be under the Learning Modules tab and this week we are learning about social media theory. There is quite a bit of reading, so please don’t wait until the last minute to get started.
